Marriage in Nigeria
An Ordinary Igbo marriage is the lawful living together of a man and a woman of different families. There are two major types of marriage in Nigeria. One type is monogamy, a marriage of one man to one woman. The second type is a polygyny, a marriage of one man to two or more women. In Nigeria adultery is acceptable for men but forbidden for women. In and Idoma marriage and Idoma man is at least twenty-five years old and has the financial and physical capacity to maintain a wife and children. Once he has done that he can search for a woman of his choice, who is at least eighteen years old.
